Hi, and welcome!
Gurjeet (right) and I (Masyn/left) met around 2003. I think we were both in our early 30’s and embarking on new adventures.
Gurjeet was launching a new Indian restaurant that would go on to have an impressive 25-year run in Boulder. When COVID hit, she was able to navigate the challenging time, and then the unimaginable happened. Gurjeet and several family members all lost their homes in the Marshal Fire. Incredibly, her tenacity and grit enabled both her family and her business to not only survive these events, but they began to thrive once again. Shortly thereafter, Gurjeet was ready to make a change. She sold her business to a long-time staff member and began looking for something new to take on.
After years in the restaurant, event, and publishing industries, I became a licensed hairstylist. I launched several hair salons while working behind the chair, also in Boulder. When COVID hit, I chose to transition my business to a solo practice in Boulder and purchased a late 1800s dry cabin in the woods and dove into an off-grid living lifestyle. In 2023, I was diagnosed with Cancer. A couple of surgeries and a lazy summer later, I knew I, too, wanted to find a new path.
Cut to our decision to restore a historic hotel and launch a retreat and events space focused on women and community in an old mining town.
And here we are, investing an immense amount of time and energy creating a space that encourages guests to unplug, slow down, turn in, reflect, breathe, and sit in general curiosity about Self and the world at large.
Our greatest hope is that the space is so rich, intentional, and conscious, guests feel held and seen throughout their entire experience.
